In the summer semester 2012, we will offer a new lecture course on "Advanced Learning Technologies" for Master's students as a follow up to our basic courses "eLearning" and "Web Technologies". The course addresses advanced topics in technology enhanced learning (e.g. mobile learning, educational data mining, and learning analytics). It focuses on the engineering of innovative learning systems and environments based on emerging mobile and Web technologies (e.g. Android, HTML5, Web mining, and recommender systems). These technologies are further inverstigated and applied in hands-on sessions (e.g. Bring Your Own Device sessions) as well as in small student projects carried out throughout the course.

The lecture topics include:

  • Mobile technologies (e.g. Android development, Augmented reality, HTML5, jQuery mobile)
  • Mobile learning in context
  • Learning analytics
  • Educational data mining
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Adaptation and personalization
  • Learner modeling
  • Recommender systems
