A Framework for Open Assessment in L²P

The recent research field of Open Assessment has led to the creation of a number of new forms of assessment like peer review, group assessments, or self-assessments among many others. The challenge is how to manage these different assessment types in a single platform.

This PhD research deals with the development of a framework for open assessment, which contributes to automating the whole assessment process encompassing different assessment types. The assessment framework will include the design and development of different modules namely; the assessment flow manager, a set of assessment tools, and a grade book module. The proposed framework will allow the teaching staff to realize a scheme for assessment using the assessment flow manager and then use the available assessment tools to conduct certain assessment activities. And last but not the least, the results from each assessment activity would be collected and managed in the gradebook to generate the final result of any course.
